Recently, and I don't mean to be gross about this, because I would rather have picked a really great smell, I would have to say Acougues, which is how you say "a store that sells lots of visible meat right on the street, just hanging (rotting?) there for your nose to encounter" in Portuguese There are like six on my street here in Brasil, and I almost faint/puke every time I pass by them. BUT I've been eating meat since I got here. Sometimes joyfully.

Airplane, there is a very antiseptic yet dirty smell abouts them.
